The youngster, wearing a replica shirt, then joined his father on the terraces to watch the home team beat the visitors 1-0.

Thomas has been sharing regular updates about his life as a single father to Ethan on social media.

He posted a note to his son on Instagram yesterday, saying: ‘It’s Friday and I’ve got a feeling something good is coming your way.

‘Tomorrow you’re a MASCOT for Norwich City v Middlesbrough! You’ll make Daddy so proud! I love you.’

Gemma had flu-like symptoms and went to see the doctor three times over the course of six days in November, before she was finally admitted to hospital when her condition continued to deteriorate.

The mother-of-one was suffering from a highly aggressive form of acute myeloid leukemia and died four days after her final trip to the GP.
