Simone Biles sustained a grisly cut on her finger after being bitten by a German Shepherd.
The 24-year-old Olympic gold medalist showed off the gruesome wound on Instagram today, reassuring her fans that she had been checked out by a doctor and received a tetanus shot.
Biles, who grew up with several German Shepherds as pets, seemed in good spirits despite the painful cut and doesn’t appear to hold a grudge against the offending pup.

‘I’ve grown up my whole life with German Shepherds and never got bit,’ she went on, but added: ‘This dog at the farm just said NOT TODAY.’
Biles filmed herself on Instagram stories earlier today, wishing her fans a good morning and excusing her supposedly ‘atrocious’ appearance.
‘Here’s an updated on my finger that the dog bit me,’ she said, showing off the nearly inch-long open wound on her right pointer finger.
‘German Shepherds don’t play,’ she wrote.
‘I’ve grown up my whole life with German Shepherds and never got bit,’ she went on, but added: ‘This dog at the farm just said NOT TODAY.’
While the cut looks painful, Biles is able to laugh about it.

The German Shepherds appear to be her family’s dogs, while she has two French bulldogs of her own, Lilo and Rambo.

Her appearance at the World Champions Centre — which is run by her parents, Nellie and Ron, and is home to her coaches, Cecile and Laurent Landi — came just days after Biles touched down in Texas after the 2020 Olympics.
Biles has remained fairly tight-lipped on whether she will continue training for the Paris 2024 Olympics, but did concede to the Today show’s Hoda Kotb last week that she is ‘leaving the door open’ to the Paris Games, by which point she will be 27 years old and likely the oldest gymnast competing for Team USA.

Biles dropped out of five event finals amid struggles with her mental health, missing out on the team final, all-around, uneven bars, vault, and floor exercise events.
She returned to competition in time for the balance beam final and ended up winning a bronze medal.
