Simu Liu and girlfriend Allison Hsu pack on PDA at 20th Unforgettable Gala Asian American Awards

Simu Liu and Allison Hsu are set to take their romance to the next level and meet each other’s parents over the Christmas holiday.

While having joked about how ‘the meet the parents thing’ can be ‘a stressful time’, the couple looked relaxed and in love while on the red carpet for Unforgettable: The 20th Annual Asian America Awards at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Saturday evening.

The annual awards ceremony, which honors and celebrates Asian excellence in entertainment, culture and social justice, was hosted by Eugene Cordero and featured keynote speakers including Daniel Dae Kim and Lisa Ling. 

The actor, who’s a Harbin, Heilongjiang, China native, looked both stylish and business ready in a blue suit that was matched with a white dress shirt and black dress shoes.

Opting for a more relaxed look, he decided not to wear a black tie or bowtie, and instead left his shirt unbuttoned down to the middle of his chest.

The Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings star, 33, had his dark hair cut short and styled back up off his face and over his ears with a slight part on the left. 

Packing on the PDA, Liu made sure to have one of his arms firmly resting around her waist during their time in the spotlight on the red carpet.

Hsu, 26, was absolutely glowing in a white and black dress while striking a number of poses ahead of the awards ceremony.

The chest portion of the full-length number was black, while the rest of it was white from the chest all the way down to past her ankles.

There was also a lit on the left side to allow for her to flaunt her gams at any given moment. 

She rounded out her look by having her raven tresses styled long, straight and flowing well past her shoulders with a part on the slight right.

Hsu is the Digital Marketing Manager at Interscope Records, where she has worked since August 2020, according to Nextau. She’s in charge of all of Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, FINNEAS, Holly Humberstone, and other Interscope artists’ digital and social media work.

The couple are planning on spending Christmas with their families, where they will get to meet each other’s parents.

‘Yeah, doing the whole family thing and meeting the parents thing, which no matter who you are and where you come from or anything like that, is a stressful time,’ Liu said, with a tinge of humor during a chat with People at the gala.

The Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings star only just made their romance Instagram official earlier this month when he shared a sweet snap of the two together at the Violent Night premiere in Los Angeles.

As for Liu, she recently shared a carousel of pictures of the couple during their holiday abroad on the small island of Anguilla. 

The theme for the star-studded gala was dubbed ‘Illuminate’, and Black Eyed Peas star Apl.de.Ap (born Allan Pineda Lindo), who’s Filipino-American, served as the performance part of the evening’s festivities.

‘The Unforgettable Gala began shining a light on the API community 20 years ago, at a time when there was relatively little awareness and less opportunity,’ said Kim, adding, ‘Today, we’re fortunate enough to celebrate how far we’ve come as we honor both the API icons who helped pave the way, as well as the next generation of talent proudly taking us into the future.’
