A single radio star has revealed the benefits of a one night stand – including a ‘pep in her step’ and a feeling of freedom – after facing criticism for recounting her raucous bedroom antics.

Jana Hocking, 37, is no stranger to dating, or sharing the juicy details with her friends or followers – but one recent chat with friends left her feeling like she had been slapped back in time.

Jana explained a new friend called her out on her sexual freeness, comparing her to Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield.

‘You know, all that ‘I can have sex with whoever I want blah blah blah,’ she told news.com.au after making the comparison.

Jana, who is a fan of Chatfield and being able to talk about her sexual encounters with confidence and pride was taken aback.

The conversation began at brunch when the radio star leaned in to tell her girlfriends about the best sex she had the night before.

The newcomer questioned whether she was dating again, when Jana revealed it was a friend she had slept with, that they had set boundaries then had a great night.

And while most leaned in to hear the goss the new friend was left unimpressed and said women should stop sharing stories about their ‘bedroom antics’.

‘She even went as far as saying ”I wouldn’t want a role-model like that for my daughter when she grows up”,’ Jana wrote in the article.

The shock chat made Jana feel like she had been slapped back to a time where a woman’s job was to get married young, have babies and refuse to dream of anything better.

It also brought back memories of her very Christian High School upbringing, where the young girls were told boys and men would ‘use love to trick them into having sex’.

Jana then said wonderful women like Chatfield, Chantelle Otten, Nadia Bokody have helped fuel the conversation around sexual fulfilment.

They have helped make saying ‘I like sex’ out loud okay –  she explained which is what makes people trying to shame her into being a ‘quiet’ woman all the harder.

Jana revealed there are ‘at least three’ Youtube sites ran by angry American men calling her out on her ‘sl*tty’ columns.

These don’t bother her too much – but ‘the scary’ part is they each have hundreds of thousands of followers who go on to shame her on their own.

‘I genuinely hate the thought of a young woman ever feeling shame for taking pleasure in something that comes very naturally to us. So news flash… it’s ok to enjoy sex, no matter if it’s with a boyfriend or someone who takes your fancy for the night,’ she said.

‘Especially if it puts a pep in your step and makes you feel wonderful like it did for me last weekend,’ she said.

She went on to promote safe sex practices and open communication – so feelings don’t get hurt when having fun.
