Sir Mo Farah tries his hands at synchronised diving

  • Sir Mo Farah called time on his track career after the World Championships
  • The Olympic Champion posted a video with his wife trying synchronised diving
  • Farah was taking a break after claiming gold and silver at the championships
  • The five-time world champion will now prepare for marathon running
  • The 36-year-old has said he will run in the London Marathon in 2018
  • Sportsmail give the former track sensation Farah a 5/10 for his dive technique

As Sir Mo Farah vacates with his wife, Tania, he has begun preparations for a new passion – and it’s not marathon running.

Whilst taking a break after his recent retirement from track competition, Farah has spent his time in the Maldives getting to grips with the world of synchronised diving.

The four-time Olympic gold medallist hung up his track shoes for good after claiming gold and silver medals in the 10,000 and 5,000 metres.

Sir Mo Farah has taken time out of competition and training to practice synchronised diving

But while Sir Mo’s track days are well and truly over, he is not quite finished with athletics completely.

The 34-year-old is set to take the roads by storm as he will look to concur the marathon circuit, and is no stranger to the roads having tasted victory in Newcastle’s Great North run for the fourth-successive time earlier in September, and has also targeted next year’s London Marathon.

In the video, Farah and Tania set off for a backflip of a barge into the sea – with the slow-motion setting applied of course – and in all fairness, gave it a pretty good go.

The pair take off with Tania slightly ahead of the Olympic champion, and remains ahead throughout as they begin their backward somersault.

Mo attempts to recover the clear lag in their synchronisation, and in doing so, makes a mess of his technique as his posture imitates a screeching cat rather than an Olympic diver.

Farah accompanied his post with: ‘Living the good life!!! @taniafarah86 #maldives #sunevafushi’

It goes without saying that road running should be a much easier transition for the five-time world champion than diving.

Not bad for a beginner, but he does no better than a 5/10 in Sportsmail’s books. Stick to the track Mo.
