Robert’s other hits included She Makes My Day, I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On, and I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight.

Earlier this week, Sir Rod surprised fans by bringing his 94-year-old sister Mary on stage as he wrapped his UK tour in Edinburgh.

The rocker performed in the Scottish city last week and decided to bring his sister up in front of the crowd as he sung his 1975 track Sailing.

In a clip shared online by a fan, Sir Rod is seen performing in a black sequinned jacket which he wore over a black shirt with white stripes.

His sister is then seen walking up to him and placing a white sailor’s hat with a black peak on his head.

Introducing her, he said: ‘This is my sister! 94!’

Mary could be seen waving to the audience as she stood with her arm around her younger sibling.

Sir Rod was seen holding the Royal Banner of Scotland flag as he entertained his fans.

The singer later told the Mirror it was a joy to be in Edinburgh with his sister, adding: ‘At 94, she’s on a rock’n’roll stage and loving it. She has and continues to teach me about life.’

Sir Rod’s two performances at Edinburgh Castle last week were the last of his UK tour.

He is the youngest child of Robert Stewart and Elsie Gilbart and his two brothers and two sisters were born in Scotland before his family moved to London, which was where he was born.

His older brothers Don and Bob died last year at the ages of 94 and 88 respectively.
