Six injured in shooting at Washington high school  

  • At least four shots were fired at Freeman High School in Rockport, Washington
  • Terrified students shared photographs on Twitter as they hid on classroom floors
  • The suspect was detained shortly after the shooting was reported 
  • Two people who are in hospital are in a stable condition but the others’ conditions are not known 

Six people have been injured in shooting at a high school in Washington. 

It happened at Freeman High School in Rockport, Washington, on Wednesday morning. 

The shooter is in custody and all students and staff are now being evacuated. 

Students took to Twitter to share photographs from classrooms where students were seen sitting on the ground.

One high school junior said ‘at least four’ shots had been fired.  Parents are being asked to go to the school’s tennis court to wait for more information. 

Every other high school in the district was put on lockdown as a precaution shortly after the shooting. They are now safe.

Six people were taken to Sacred Heart Hospital after the shooting. Two of these people are in a stable condition, local station CBS 19 reported at the time.
