Six Strings Brewery explosion in Erina: Woman rushed to hospital

A woman is in a critical condition after surviving a gas explosion at a brewery.

After emergency services arrived at the Six Strings Brewery in Erina on NSW’s Central Coast just after 11.30am on Monday, they found the woman in her 20s suffering from both burns and blast injuries.

It is believed a gas explosion occurred at the Chiltern Road address, and NSW Fire and Rescue extinguished various fires at the site.

It is believed all the brewery’s walls were blown out by the explosion.

The injured woman was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital by a Care Flight helicopter by specialist paramedics.

A police investigation is underway into the cause of the explosion.
