A group of young tradies say they’ll never work again after striking it rich in Powerball’s $16.8 million jackpot.

The anonymous syndicate of six Sydney mates in their 20s were the only division one winners from Thursday night’s Powerball draw. Each will take home a share worth more than $2.73 million.

The syndicate leader couldn’t believe the news when he was told on Friday morning.

‘Are you kidding me?!’ he exclaimed.

‘Oh my god! That’s mad! Sweet!

‘How do I get it?’

The happy man explained the private syndicate had only began earlier this year.

‘We’re all hardworking… except for one of us,’ he laughed.

‘We’re all going to quit at the same time! I’m never going to work again! I’m going to put the money to work to buy a house, buy another house and start building.

‘Bugger going back to work!’

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1118 on Thursday 19 October 2017 were 11, 34, 17, 31, 8 and 9, while the all-important Powerball number was 16.
