Two people were assessed by paramedics, with only one woman in her 20s suffering a minor leg injury.

Rescued climber Steven Woods said the group were surprised to need help.

‘We looked at the weather but we didn’t expect it to come in early,’ he told Nine News.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman Bernie Massingham said the climbers had ‘made the right call’ to ask for help.

‘It’s better to call us earlier than risk potential injury or worse,’ he said.
