This is the terrifying moment a daredevil skier races away from an avalanche as he descends an almost vertical mountain in the Alps.
US thrill-seeker John Collinson can be seen charging down a sheer white slope on the Breithorn mountain along the border between Italy and Switzerland.
At one point he is forced to avoid a localised avalanche with a huge cloud of snow seen crashing down the mountainside behind him.
The dramatic pictures were taken by Swiss photographer and director Tero Repo, 39 who said: ‘We were close to Breithorn, shooting some photos for a film production called This is Home. Superb skier John Collinson was making a turn on some very exposed terrain.
‘He was pushing to the limits and skiing absolutely at the next level. It was incredible to watch and I feel grateful to have captured the moment.’
