Skin expert Dermal Clinician Jayde reveals which of Kmart’s beauty products are good and bad

I am a skin expert and this is the one product I want you to avoid if you are trying out Kmart’s $6 beauty range

  • Dermal Clinician Jayde reviewed Kmart
  • Praised salicylic acid serum

A beauty expert has revealed which products from Kmart’s beauty range are worth buying, and which should be avoided.

Dermal Clinician Jayde reviewed the range from the department store, where all the products are $6 or less.

She began by discussing the trio of facial serums, which are infused with hyaluronic acid to retain and lock in moisture within the skin’s barrier for a healthy glow.

She says she has a ‘massive problem’ with niacinamide serum, Kmart’s Vitamin B3 serum, which costs $6 for 30ml bottle.

‘They’ve put three per cent in there.

‘I see a massive problem with this. Based on medical clinical data, niacinamide is most valuable at four per cent.

‘In some cosmetics, it goes up to 10 per cent.

‘What’s three per cent gonna do?’

She added that it will be ‘nice and hydrating’ and could be good for a teen or tween starting out.

Next, Jayde assessed the two per cent salicylic acid serum, which is also $6 for a 30ml bottle.

She said that two per cent salicylic acid is ‘well studied’ so it was likely a good product.

‘I’m seeing a common theme, these ingredients are water based.

‘They also have hyaluronic acid in there, which we need to hydrate.’

While she praised the salicylic acid serum, Jayde said that she didn’t want to see anyone using the budget retailer’s one per cent retinol serum.

‘If there is one product you need to invest in its a retinol,’ she said.

‘When I take someone off a cheap retinol and get them onto a good one or even a prescription one, you see the changes.

‘I don’t want to see teens using this ,’ she went on.

The beauty expert added that none of the cleansers are suitable to be used around the eyes, they have acids in.

Instead she suggests buying the QV Ceramides Lotion for $11.99 from a chemist.
