Red Bull previously conducted an investigation into the behaviour of team boss Horner in a volatile scene for the sport that saw the reigning championship garage and F1’s top brass in crisis mode.

Brundle at the time said: ‘It’s a global story. I think it’s been a damaging story for Christian and Red Bull and all of Formula One.’

Horner was supported by his wife Geri Halliwell at the time and has proceeded to oversee another season of dominance so far for Red Bull and championship leader Verstappen.

Brundle is expected to be present conducting his usual pre and post-race interview duties at the Red Bull ring on Sunday.
