Sky Sports mistakenly named Gabriel Jesus as the North London Derby’s man-of-the match, despite the player only being on the pitch a matter of minutes.
The award was meant for his teammate and compatriot Gabriel Magalhaes, who scored the match-winning goal in the first north London derby of the season.
Gabriel Jesus featured as a late substitute in the match, but barely had time to leave a mark.
The Arsenal centre-back had the opposite effect, however, scoring a towering header from a Bukayo Sako-delivered corner in the 64th minute.
The goal again exposed Tottenham’s defensive naivety from set-pieces, who left the Brazilian acres of space in their six-yard box to nod home the winner.

Speaking after the game to the broadcaster, Gabriel could only share his delight with his goal that earned the Gunner the three points: ‘I’m so happy. We know it’s a difficult game, it’s a big derby.
‘We are so happy to win here – let’s enjoy now.’
Arsenal scored more goals from corners than any other team in the Premier League last season, with 16. They’ve already scored two in the first four games of the 2024-25 campaign.
For defender Gabriel, it was his first goal since February this year, but the Brazilian showed impressive composure alongside centre-back partner William Saliba to prevent a wasteful Spurs from levelling.
Gabriel’s goal clinched victory for Arsenal in the first north London derby of the season
Arsenal have now won their last three games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a performance that underscored their renewed intent to win their first Premier League title in 20 years.
They last lost a fixture away to Spurs back in May 2022.
