Sky TV remote has a hidden button that takes you directly to your recorded films and TV programmes – here’s how to find it

  • A hidden button on your Sky remote will save you time finding your recordings
  • Pressing the large ‘Sky’ logo button can quickly bring up your saved TV shows
  • Other handy hacks include using the Sky Q box to find your missing remote

If you’re a self-proclaimed technophobe, trying to work Sky TV can sometimes be a daunting task, particularly trying to navigate the remote control.

But it appears that finding recordings of your favourite TV programmes and films is not as complicated as it seems – in fact, a button to easily access them has been hiding in plain site.

Eagle-eyed Sky TV owners have noticed that the large ‘Sky’ button in the top centre of your remote is not just there as a logo, but also has a very useful function.

After turning on your Sky Q box, if you press the large Sky button, it will give you immediate access to all your recordings.

From films to television programmes, your whole library of recordings will instantly appear without having to tediously scroll through the menu.

By pressing the button you will have access to your recordings from anywhere on the Sky interface, meaning you can flick through recordings while watching something else.

Sky customers have been blown away by the revelation that the button is more than just a pretty logo.

One on Twitter wrote: ‘I’ve just discovered that the Sky letters at the top of the remote is actually a button and takes you to your recordings.

‘I excitedly showed my wife and she turned around and said I know. Gutted. Seems like I’m in the minority here.’

Another added: ‘If you press the “Sky” button, you’ll be brought straight to your recordings, so there’ll be no time wasted when you’re gunning to watch the season finale of White Lotus or House of the Dragon.

‘You’ll find all of the TV shows and films you had downloaded to watch. Saved a click.’

One user joked that ‘every day is a school day’ when they first realised how the button works.

Other handy hacks to help you navigate your way around Sky TV include hitting the fast forward button to get the 24 hour ‘What’s On’ guide up, meaning you can see what is on over the next few days very quickly.

Hitting the rewind button will then take you back to what was showing a day earlier.

For those disorganised individuals who are always losing their remote control, there is also an easy way to find it, whether it be stuffed under a sofa cushion or tucked away on a bookshelf.

The remote has a useful built-in speaker that will beep if you have lost it.

Individuals just need to press the Q button on the front of your Sky Q box, and after a few seconds, it will pair with the Sky Q remote.

The voice controller will beep for 30 seconds until you hopefully find your missing remote.

Once it is found, you can press any button on your remote to stop the beeping sound.

Unfortunately if you own a Sky Q Mini Box, the Find My Remote feature will not work.
