An astonishing video showing a group of skydivers driving a car out of a plane and flying it for 15 seconds has emerged.
The incredible stunt was pulled off by Mission X, a team of thrill-seekers with a passion for aerodynamics, in Arizona in August this year.
The team have since revealed that they did not know how the modified Toyota Corolla FX would behave once it was in the air.
They spent weeks working on it in Texas to make it as safe as possible before transporting it to Arizona. Changes including draining it of fluid, removing its engine and adding a metal subbottom to make it able to fly.
Once they had been granted the relevant permits, they carried out their experiment in peace then removed the car debris from the desert.

The team is shown above. It included five people who were in the car and the two who pushed the vehicle out of the plane and jumped out after it
The crew were able to remain inside the car as it rocked back and forth for 15 seconds of flight

The five skydivers were suddenly ejected from the vehicle when it flipped over after 15 seconds of flight
They all descended for 15 seconds, leaving the car to float briefly, before inflating their parachutes and watching as it fell
The team had five people in the car and two who pushed it out of the Arizona Skydiving plane.
One of the two people who pushed it out was seen slamming in to the vehicle seconds after jumping out of the aircraft.
Otherwise, there were no major injuries and the group floated for 15 seconds before being ejected as the vehicle suddenly flipped upside down. They then watched on in wonder as the car spun in the air before embarking on its quick descent.
One of the team’s members told DailyMail.com on Tuesday that the stunt had been had been a dream of one team member for 10 years. It was set in motion in March this year.
When they bought the car – one of two they purchased from a salvage yard – it was sad and ‘dim’. They decided to spray paint it to liven it up, they said, and Trump was the natural choice.
‘We bought the cars from a salvage yard and they were not exactly pretty.
‘With such a cool stunt like this none of us wanted to throw out a dim, sad looking car so we asked a graffiti artist in Houston to spice them up.

The car crashed and burned as the Mission X team made their descent in parachutes. They were proud of the end result and posed in the wreckage afterwards

A cartoon illustration of Donald Trump in armour as a knight was one of the graffiti artist’s contributions to the stunt
‘One of the team members wanted to paint a Trump themed car and we loved the idea. Howie, the artist, did an amazing job creating a painting on the side of the car of a Trump knight with his iconic hair, and the U.S flag as his sword and Trump 2020 on the hood.
‘Most of the organizers of this stunt are Trump supporters, however there were many people involved that are not Trump supporters and range all the way from the left to the right,’ they said.
Politics was nothing to do with it, they added.
‘The beautiful thing about this event was that everyone came together to accomplish one incredible mission and have a ton of fun along the way.
‘We all understand that not everyone has the same beliefs or views and that it shouldn’t stop us from hanging out and teaming up to make something great happen, even laughing about it together,’ they said.
The team selected their landing patch, which was found in an area known as Arizona’s Area 51, because it was far from electricity lines.
Among the many final preparations was covering any sharp edge or object inside the car with tape to prevent the team from injuring themselves if they banged into it while freefalling
