Skye Wheatley is criticised for sharing a breastfeeding photo of her six-month-old son Forest

She gave birth to her first child, son Forest, six months ago.

And on Sunday, former Big Brother star Skye Wheatley garnered mixed reactions when she posted a photo of herself breastfeeding.

Some followers applauded the 25-year-old for helping ‘normalise breastfeeding’ while others said she was ‘crazy’ to post something so personal on social media.

In the photo taken from above, Skye sits on a couch in her Gold Coast home. 

She dresses casually in a grey tank top, cardigan and leggings, with her top lifted up to expose one of her breasts.

Forest, who is wearing an Adidas onesie and white sneakers, latches onto his mother.

Criticism: Another suggested it was just an ‘excuse’ for Skye to flash the flesh on Instagram 

Skye accompanied the picture with the caption: ‘Not sure what I would do without you my handsum lil man (sic),’ alongside the hashtags #loveyou and #breastfeeding.

Followers took to the comments section, either praising or criticising Skye for sharing such a candid shot.

‘You’re absolutely crazy. How can you post this pic?’ one person asked.

Others were in favour, however, with one commenting: ‘Yay for breastfeeding. Hey massive news flash to the haters – that’s what breasts are for!’

In a previous Instagram post, the former makeup artist described the birth as the ‘most rewarding, intense and wonderful experience’ of her entire life.
