Defending Australian Open champions, Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner have returned to Melbourne Park this week on a quest to defend their Grand Slam titles.
Both are hot favourites to once again clinch their titles, with world No 1, Sabalenka, riding an excellent vein of form coming into the next fortnight, having won at the Brisbane International last week.
Prior to that, Sabalenka had also won at the Wuhan Open in October and clinched her first US Open title in September.
Sinner, 23, meanwhile, claimed victory at the ATP Nitto Finals in November and also experienced glory at the US Open, winning the men’s singles title.
Interestingly, Sabalenka and Sinner have both picked up 18 titles on their respective tours, with both having surpassed over $60million in career earnings.
And they can point to their endeavours in the Grand Slams to much of that wealth, with the pair both pocketing $3.5m at last year’s Australian Open.

The players had arrived for the main draw but while there was much focus on who would be playing who, some eagle eyed members of the audience noted their glinting timepieces
Both of the luxury watches come to an approximate combined price of $303,857
But it looks like they have both been splashing the cash, with the pair having each appeared to have purchased their very own luxury watch.
Sabalenka and Sinner both appeared at the Australian Open main draw on Thursday to speak to journalists and some fans about the upcoming tournament.
While both wore sporty hoodies to the event it was the glinting object on their wrists that most were paying attention to.
Upon further inspection, Daily Mail Australia understands that Sabalenka had been wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph timepiece.
The watch, which features a gold casing, also comes with a bezel that has been fitted with a variety of coloured gems that are arranged in a rainbow pattern.
Similar items are up for sale on Chrono24 for an eye-watering $233,266.
Sinner, meanwhile, was also sporting a stunning Rolex Daytona watch that can fetch up to $70,591, according to prices listed on Chrono24.
The watch comes with a gold case and a black bezel. The face of the watch features the iconic Rolex logo, as well as three different dials on the timepiece.
Sinner will get his Australian Open defence off to a tough start, with the world No 1 coming up against world No 34 Nicolas Jarry.

The Belarusian faces a tough draw against former Grand Slam winner Sloane Stephens
Sinner, meanwhile, will take on world No 34 Nicolas Jarry, who enjoyed an excellent 2024
The Chilean, 29, has won three titles on the ATP Tour so far during his career, and nearly clinched a fourth at the ATP Rome Masters in May of last year, being beaten in the final by Alexander Zverev.
Should he advance past the third round, there is a chance he could take on either one of Cameron Norrie, Matteo Berrettini or Hubert Hurkacz in the fourth round.
In the women’s singles, Sabalenka faces off against US star Sloane Stephens in the first round.
The former major champion, 31, is ranked 84th on the WTA Tour and won her first WTA Tour title in two years back in April in Rouen.
Should Sabalenka defeat Stephens she could face off against No 5 seed Zheng Qinwen in the quarterfinals.
A victory there could see her pair off against Coco Gauff in what would be one of the most hotly anticipated matches of the fortnight.
