Robotic suitcases that follow you wherever you go are taking over CES this year.
Chinese firm 90Fun has unveiled its Puppy 1 suitcase equipped with a custom auto-following chip and Segway’s self-balancing technology to prevent falling over.
In a demonstration at CES, 90Fun showed off how it can drive around either controlled by a human, or all by itself.
Segway Ninebot also displayed its adorable Loomo robot and the autonomous delivery version, Loomo Go, which appears a cross between a rideable hoverboard and a friendly robotic companion.

Puppy is an RF remote control auto-following suitcase with built-in positioning radar.
Users can command its movement using a joystick, or summon it within 20 meters to have it drive to you by itself.
It has bi-directional intelligence, meaning it can go back and forth.
Puppy 1 is equipped with multiple assistant modes for different types of travel. It can climb a slope of up to 30 degrees, and traverse a bumpy road.
And, it’s got 6-inch all-weather tires.
The auto-following suitcase drives at about 5 kilometers per hour (3mph) – but, it could go as fast as 18km/h (11mph).

It can also be used as a regular, ‘non-smart’ suitcase.
But, it appears it won’t hold very much.
Puppy 1 has a 20-inch cabin, and can hold about 30 liters. The suitcase is also equipped with a back storage bin, which can hold small items.
Segway Ninebot also displayed its adorable Loomo robot and the autonomous delivery version, Loomo Go, which appears a cross between a rideable hoverboard and a friendly robotic companion
It also has a security fingerprint lock, with the ability to remember 5 fingerprint records.
According to 90Fun, the auto-following suitcase will go on sale in 2018.
Puppy 1 was demonstrated alongside Segway’s Loomo robots.
And, with a self-balancing hoverboard-style base, you can even ride it. Segway also demonstrated the Loomo Go – an autonomous delivery robot designed for carrying small loads in indoor space
Loomo is designed to be both a ‘mini personal transporter’ and an ‘intelligent robot.’
It uses Intel’s Realsense camera, giving it the power of depth-sensing, facial recognition, and person tracking.

It can hold up to 50kg in its detachable delivery box, and can deliver for up to 8 hours.
Loomo Go can avoid obstacles and even ride the elevator by itself, and provide real-time delivery updates.
‘It uses advanced sensors and visual SLAM technology to efficiently navigate autonomously through busy urban environments, including: shopping malls, office buildings, airports, parking lots, etc,’ according to Segway Robotics.
And, with precise 3D mapping technology, it’ll never get lost.
