A snake handler has torn a Queensland kitchen apart to catch a deadly snake hiding under a set of draws.
The red belly black snake was sheltering from the rain when it slithered into a home in Pacific Paradise, on the Sunshine Coast.
‘This little Red Belly decided he wanted to get out of the rain and hang out in a family’s kitchen,’ Stu from Snake Catchers 24/7 wrote on Facebook.

In a video of the incident Stu can be seen peering under a set of draws looking for the snake.
When he doesn’t find it, Stu is forced to rip the cabinet apart to gain access to the slippery character.
‘He’s squeezed in behind this board in the kitchen,’ Stu says in the video.
‘I’m going to have to rip this board out and see what I can find.
After ‘a bit of time and effort’ Stu managed to fish the snake out.
He placed the serpent in a bag, much to the delight of the family.
When he doesn’t find it Stu is forced to rip the cabinet apart to gain access to the slippery character (hole bottom right)
