  • A man came to the rescue before it was too late and eventually wiggled it out
  • The rescuer grabbed its head and forced the rotund parts of its body to safety

A huge brown snake found itself in a sticky situation when it tried slithering through a gap in the side of a compost bin but became stuck halfway.

The giant eastern brown’s body was squished between the narrow slot of the back yard bucket in Hayborough, South Australia, and required expert assistance to break free.

Fortunately, a man came to the rescue before it was too late and eventually wiggled the scaly body until it could be pulled to safety.

Gob-smacking footage of the predicament shows the long thin reptile taking on the appearance of a garden hose as it lay stationary wedged in the snug gap.

But once his rescuer secured the reptile’s head in his hand, he was able to force the remaining chubby parts of its body through the small opening.

The slippery sucker put on a feisty performance in response to its body being poked and prodded during the rescue mission
