In an effort to make it even easier to use, Snapchat has overhauled its app with a fresh new redesign.
The new app aims to separate ‘social’ and ‘media’, creating a clear distinction between interactions with friends and content from publishers and creators.
The update is being introduced first to a small percentage of users later this week, with wider availability in the coming weeks.

Snapchat announced the redesign in a blog today.
A spokesperson for Snapchat said: ‘Until now, social media has always mixed photos and videos from your friends with content from publishers and creators.
‘While blurring the lines between professional content creators and your friends has been an interesting internet experiment, it has also produced some strange side-effects (like fake news) and made us feel like we have to perform for our friends rather than just express ourselves.
‘The new Snapchat separates the social from the media.’
Snapchat still opens to the camera, but swiping left reveals a new ‘Friends’ page, where users see Stories from the friends they talk to the most.
The Snapchat spokesperson said: ‘You can think of it as a more sophisticated Best Friends algorithm that makes it easier to find the friends you want to talk to, when you want to talk to them.
‘We’ve all had the frustrating experience of scrolling endlessly through our Chats to find the right person – now your Friends will be listed in the order that you want to talk to them.
As part of the redesign, Snapchat has added a few other additions. Your own Story can now be managed through your Profile page, while Group Chats now automatically have their own Group Story
‘It might take a little while for the Friends page to learn the best way to display your Friends, but the results are worth it.’
Swiping right from the camera now reveals a redesigned ‘Discover’ page, where users will see Stories from publishers, creators, and the community.
Users can now send snaps, and look at their personal and Group stories through their Profile page
While the Discover content used to be presented in a horizontal scroll, the new screen serves content in a full-screen, vertical scroll, ordered based on what is most relevant to you.
To make the Discover page even more entertaining, Snapchat will also start providing creators with a more rewarding experience that includes better distribution and monetisation opportunities, starting in 2018.

And finally, the Snap Map will now make an appearance on the Discover page in Search.
