Beck Bennett is set to make his movie debut on director James Gunn’s first DC film, Superman.
The 39-year-old SNL alum — who left the show back in 2021 — will act as a reporter for the movie’s news channel The Daily Planet.
He is slated to join actor David Corenswet who stars as Clark Kent and Superman in the upcoming superhero film.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan is taking on the coveted role of reporter Lois Lane, the love interest of the hero.
Superman is currently filming in Atlanta and will hit theatres next year on July 11, 2025 according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On Wednesday evening, the actor took to his Instagram Story to thank director James Gunn for the opportunity.
‘Thanks @jamesgunn!!! It’s been so fun. I love Lombard,’ he wrote behind the filmmaker’s post announcing the SNL alum’s casting.
‘Welcome to the DCU, Steve Lombard @backbennett,’ Gunn penned.
The highly anticipated DC film will return beloved character’s from the comics such as Jimmy Olsen played by Skyler Gisondo.
Eve Teschmacher will be played by Portuguese model Sara Sampaio and The Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White played by Wendell Pierce.
Various other DC superheroes are set to make a cameo in the film with Edi Gathegi as playing Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl.
The outlet reports that the star-studded cast will include Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and María Gabriela de Faría as playing The Engineer.
Bennett has previously done voice acting on Nimona (2023) and Disney Channel’s Random Things.
We last saw the actor on the Netflix comedy Unfrosted co-written, directed and starring Jerry Seinfeld.
He joined the Saturday Night Live cast back in 2013 and starred on the show for eight years before parting ways in 2021.
