A snooker legend has shared the time he once took his brother’s corpse to a pub to give it a final boozy farewell.

The player in question is regarded as one of the finest exponents of the game to never win a World Championship title.

He was also renowned for his unpredictable antics away from the table, which saw him earn a reputation as a fiery character.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Jimmy White said: ‘Me, my brother, sister and my driver were in a pub opposite the funeral place.

‘We were all in shock and were in floods of tears for hours and hours. All of a sudden I said I was going to see him again. A couple of them tried to stop me.

‘I went over and there was a big padlock on a chain. I kicked this chain and the padlock fell off.

‘We went in and now we’re laughing and talking with him, sat him up. We were still all crying our eyes out talking to him.’

The snooker star continued by saying that he was subsequently involved with the police following the incident but was not charged after explaining the situation.

Despite his prowess on the baize White has been unable to lift a title at the Crucible despite reaching the World Snooker Championship final six times.

He was denied entry to the tournament once again on Tuesday, after losing to Ukraine’s Anton Kazakov in qualifying in Sheffield.

His failure to make the cut comes after he revealed earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with ADHD in his 60s.

Per The Mirror, he said: ‘I’m going to give you an exclusive. I got diagnosed with ADHD about two years ago, 18 months, two years ago.

‘I’ve had to work. With ADHD you think about 15 things at once. So I’m now down to sort of like normal. I have to be medicated and all that and it’s completely changed my life.’

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD for short, is a condition where people struggle to concentrate and tend to be more hyperactive and act impulsively.

Symptoms can be noticeable as early six years old however symptoms in adults tend to be far more subtle.
