Snow hits Britain weather warnings issued

Snow is expected to hit certain parts of the UK tonight as the bookies slash the odds on a white Christmas.

The Met Office has predicted ‘wintery showers’ – consisting of snow, sleet and hail – to hit Northern Scotland tonight and temperatures of -5C.

A yellow weather warning has also been issued in the West, East and Northern parts of the UK from tonight until 11am tomorrow as untreated icy roads, pavements and cycle paths will be dangerous.

It comes after Paddy Power reduced the odds of a white Christmas taking place in London to 7/4.
