So nice they wore it twice! A look at which A-listers stars have recycled their red carpet looks

Rebel Wilson proved herself fashionable, thrifty and environmentally friendly when she re wore a gorgeous gold gown to the Vanity Fair’s Oscars bash last week.

The 43-year-old Pitch Perfect actress slipped into the exact same frock three years earlier when she hit the red carpet for the 2020 Academy Awards.

Since then, the Aussie beauty has lost over 80lbs and declared all the outfit needed was needed was to be ‘taken in at the back’.

Rebel beamed with pride as she showed off her new, slimmer figure on Sunday evening as she stepped onto the blue carpet in that dazzling dress.

‘Oscars 2023. Sustainably re-wearing my @jasonwu dress from the Oscars a few years ago,’ she wrote on Instagram.

The first time: She had it on in 2020 at the Academy Awards

Crediting her stylist Elizabeth Stewart, in another post that had the caption, ‘Same dress in 2020 (just taken in at the back).’

Victoria Beckham 

Former Spice Girl Victoria, 48, was a wonderful advertisement for her own fashion line when she proved  her pieces could be worn on numerous occasions.

The stunner slipped into a tailored ivory suit for an incredibly chic appearance at the 2019 GQ Men of The Year Awards. 

Victoria then opted for the same outfit the following year when she headed to a swanky BAFTA afterparty.

For its second outing she unbuttoned the blazer revealing a frilly blouse complete with a contrasting black ruffle.

Cate Blanchett 

Actress Cate, 53, followed fellow Aussie Rebel’s example when she also recycled a look this award’s season as she attended the SAG awards where she was nominated for Best Actress. 

The Tar actress recycled an old Armani dress she previously wore on the red carpet back in 2016 for the star-studded ceremony.

Cate’s gown featured a figure-hugging design and a plunging neckline, complete with stunning lace over the bust and back.

Cate previously wore the dress to the 18th Costume Designers Guild Awards in Los Angeles seven years ago.

However, she has since modified the frock to include a deeper neckline and lace detailing.

Kate Winslet 

 In December Kate Winslet recycled a gorgeous gown she first wore seven years ago as she stepped out at the Avatar: The Way Of Water world premiere in London.

The British actress, 47, looked just as glamorous as when she first wore the dress as she arrived at the Odeon Luxe in London’s Leicester Square.

Kate was first seen wearing the figure-hugging Badgley Mischka number in 2015 at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her film The Dressmaker.

She stunned in the grey gown, featuring dazzling silver embellishments along the neckline, as she celebrated both the return of the Avatar franchise and her glitzy wardrobe piece.

She has previously described splashing money on new red carpet looks as a ‘waste’ of money and vowed to sustainably re-wear her outfits. 

In 2020, she shared her plans to recycle her old outfits, saying she would have them ‘let out’ to ‘squeeze my hot-and-bothered mum-on-the-school-run body’ into them.

‘To make something that’s only going to be worn once… I’ve already decided I’m doing repeat dresses,’ she told Vanity Fair in 2020.

Jennifer stormed the runway for the iconic designer in the revealing green dress, which boasted a plunging front, bare back and a train of several feet.

The star proved she’s barely aged a day since her original red carpet display, which turned her into a style icon thanks to the plunging green gown. 

Jennifer reminisced about her famous jungle gown in a video posted to her Youtube Channel, saying: ‘All of a sudden you start hearing a little murmur. I’m thinking, it’s the Grammys.

‘It has to be somebody famous behind us. It was a frenzy. The flashes started going in a way that it’s not usually. There was an extra kinetic energy there. I was like what the hell is going on? I had no idea it was about this dress.’

Kate Moss

Even fashionista Kate Moss, 49, has slipped into the same enemble, first debuting a black midi-dress at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival.

Joined by her then beau Johnny Depp, 49, she exuded elegance in the frock that boasted an off the shoulder design with marabou trim.

Everything in fashion comes back around and seven years later Kate was spotted again in the stylish dress while stepping out in NYC.

Gwyneth Paltrow 

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 50, exuded glamour when she arrived at the 1996 MTV VMA’s in a plunging red velvet Gucci suit.

On it’s first wear the Oscar winner layered the look over a crisp white shirt complete with statement cuffs.  

Then 25 years later to celebrate the luxury brand’s 100 year anniversary she rocked the outfit once again.

Gwyneth looked like no time had passed as she hit the red carpet with glamorous make-up and her blonde tresses slicked back.

Elizabeth Banks

The stunner looked nothing short of sensational in the grecian style dress that hugged her gorgeous figure. 

After still being an up and comer in 2014, she returned to the party in 2020 an A-lister and looking like no time had passed.

She swapped her updo for a chic bob and swapped statement earrings for chic and understated necklace.
