From paying to have someone cook a barbecue, scull a beer, draw a picture or share their life story—online task outsourcing platform, Airtasker, has certainly opened the door to a whole new world of crazy.
While its proven a useful tool for those who are particularly time poor or without the right resources to get something done independently, others have taken it upon themselves to discover just how far ‘taskers’ will go to earn some extra coin.
Among the most bizarre was a job that required the assistance of someone to help ‘call on/summon ghosts’.
A whopping $300 was on offer for the right person to help someone communicate with the dead
The bizarre job offer was shared to a task board dedicated to the sharing of ‘Funny AirTasking stories/anecdotes’, with its creator offering $20 to the person with the craziest tale.
More than 60 stories shared with the poster outlined the strange things people will do and offer money to have done.
But the task that won itself the final payout was one that requested a cartoon drawing of Star Wars character, Darth Vader, riding a bicycle with an owl on its handlebars.
