Sonia Kruger reveals her VERY surprising nickname that reveals her true personality off screen: ‘What you see on TV is generally the opposite’

Sonia Kruger has shared the unusual nickname she goes by to all her friends.

The television presenter is known as a big of a goody two shoes, she confessed to Stellar Magazine this week – and admits TV viewers might not have guessed what she is like off screen.

‘My nickname is Dudley. Dudley Do-Right, to be precise’ the 58-year-old explained.

‘For those who don’t know, Dudley Do-Right is a happy-go-lucky Royal Canadian mounted police officer (first appearing in the 1960s cartoons) who’s renowned for being a compulsive rule follower’ she continued.

‘It’s not funny, but it’s accurate. And sadly, that’s who I am – a straighty 180, a goody two-shoes… a complete Dudley.’

Sonia says that since her school days, she ‘assumed the mantle of responsibility to always be the sensible one in any given situation’.

‘I know this might come as a shock to some given what you see on TV is generally the opposite – that is, if there’s a rule to be broken, I will absolutely not hesitate – but television isn’t real life. In that context, I’m a Dudley all day’ she said.

Last week, Sonia was hiding a million-dollar secret as she arrived on the carpet at the 64th TV Week Logie Awards.

The TV personality looked ethereal with long tulle sleeves which draped along the ground with her long train.

And while all eyes were on the remarkable gown, many missed the sparkling bespoke jewellery worth an eyewatering $997,000 draped across her body.

Sonia dazzled while wearing accessories from Australian fine, family jeweller Jan Logan, with designs made especially for the occasion.

The most expensive piece was a 6.09 carat diamond ring with a double stone design worth $230,000, while the cheapest was a 3.16 carat diamond earring worth $9,500.

Other high-end accessories included the round and emerald cut diamond bracelet ($145,000), and 13 carat diamond bracelet ($110,000).

The designs were made for Sonia in the Jan Logan in the Double Bay workshop by a local team of artisanal craftsmen.

Angus Logan, Managing Director of Jan Logan, spoke to FEMAIL about how the pieces were crafted and chosen.

‘We worked closely with Sonia Kruger and stylist Natalia De Martin on their overall vision for her final Logies look, with each piece created bespoke for Sonia in our Double Bay workshop by our team of local artisanal craftsman,’ he said.

‘The brief was centred around creating impactful, statement pieces and diamonds ‘en mass’, by stacking pieces together and mixing a range of unique diamond cuts together – such as emerald, pear, princess, marquise, round and cushion.’

Sonia paired the look with a nude lip, soft waves and maroon nails.

When asked which piece was her favourite, stylist Natalia De Martin said Sonia adored the entire collection.

‘She was blown away. Such divine, truly sparkling diamonds. If we had to pick I’d say these multi stoned pieces were her favourites,’ Natalia told FEMAIL.
