New Zealand sports star Sonny Bill Williams has celebrated his graduation with a joyous family photo. 

The 33-year-old shared a snap from his graduation ceremony on Wednesday, proving it’s possible to balance professional sporting commitments with study. 

‘Yes a Pacific Islander, boxer, league, sevens and rugby player can graduate!’ the happy All Black wrote on social media.

The practicing Muslim donned an academic gown with red silk and a mortarboard to celebrate the achievement.

The father-of-three posed with his wife Alana Raffie, who clung onto the degree proudly, and their young children.

An image of the degree shows Williams successfully completed a Bachelor of Applied Management, specifically Sports Management, with a distinction.  

The All Blacks star received the qualification from Otago Polytechnic, which is the equivalent of a TAFE college in Australia.

Williams was commended by fans for finalising his studies.

‘Well done and congratulations. Anyone can do what they want as long as they believe,’ one person said.

‘Congratulations! An education well-earned is a gift that nobody can ever take away,’ said another.  

Williams announced his plans to head ‘back to school’ in July 2018.

‘Studying a bachelor in applied management,’ he said on Twitter.

‘God willing I continue to avenge A+ like I did back in high school before I dropped out.

‘Blessed to be on this journey continuing to learn and grow.’

Williams was one of ten Auckland Blues rugby players to enroll in studies at the institution through Capable New Zealand.
