Couldn’t wait! Sophie Monk revealed on the Hamish and Andy Show on Friday that she and new partner Stu Laundy went against producer’s wishes and ‘did their own catch ups’ instead

‘Can I be honest? We did our own catch ups,’ she told hosts Hamish Blake and Andy Lee.

‘You’re meant to go by the rules – we didn’t.’

Sophie then claimed that the normal process for Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants to meet up following the ending of the show – which is filmed six months in advance of its premiere – was one which proved to be extremely difficult.

‘They’re meant to lock you away where you drive two hours in separate cars and meet in the bush,’ Sophie said.

The pair revealed they would use a covert method of getting Stu into the hotel where Sophie was staying, whereby she would ‘drop a key in the carpark’ so he could let himself in to her hotel room.

Sophie and Stu have managed to keep their relationship a secret since filming for the show wrapped earlier this year, but haven’t shied away from letting it be known that they are over the moon to finally be able to celebrate their love in public.

In an interview with TV Week on Friday, Sophie claimed she couldn’t wait to have a normal relationship with her partner, and also revealed she is now happy for the hype around the show to die down.
