She rose to fame after being selected as a member of girl band Bardot in the millennial television series Popstars.
And during Mia Freedman’s podcast on Monday, Sophie Monk admitted that she initially thought the show was a one-off special, as opposed to a weekly program.
‘I didn’t realise it was a full series at all,’ the 37-year-old shared.

‘I thought it was like one special for one episode of ABC or something small that would go away,’ Sophie told Mia.
‘I didn’t realise it was a full series at all, (so) it was a real shock to me.’
However, despite not knowing what she was in for, the blonde beauty remained her authentic self.
‘I let the cameras in when they wanted,’ Sophie went on to say.

The group’s national exposure helped with their debut single Poison entering the ARIA singles chart at number one, selling over 60,000 copies in its first week.
However their reign was short-lived, announcing the band’s decision to split in an official statement in April 2002.

In October this year, Sophie opened up about her battle with body image during her time in the band.
The UK-born starlet told NW magazine that the other girls ‘were tiny’ and she had to wear a different wardrobe size to them.
‘I definitely lost too much weight. I was tiny. There was a moment where [dieting] was all I thought about.’

Sophie revealed she once had a body image meltdown and used gaffer tape to keep her body tight.
But since finding love with pub baron Stu Laundy on The Bachelorette, the Click actress says she’s very content.
She also gushed over her 44-year-old beau, saying she feels as if she has found ‘everything’ since finding him.
