South Carolina woman, 24, miraculously survives being thrown out of vehicle

A dramatic car chase in South Carolina ended when a twenty-four-year woman was thrown from her vehicle after police used a strategic maneuver to flip over her vehicle.

Dash cam footage captured by the Florence County Sheriff’s department allegedly shows Brittany Nicole Jeffords ignore demands for her to pull her vehicle to the shoulder of the road after being stopped for a traffic violation.

The incident, which transpired on July 12, shows Jeffords instead hit multiple police cruisers as she desperately attempts to flee from law enforcement in her black SUV.

Chief Deputy Glen Kirby told WBTW-13 that Jeffords was  involved in a high-speed chase in the area of TV Road and McIver Road.

Throughout the footage, the suspect can be driving erratically through parts of rural South Carolina, periodically smacking into other vehicles and destroying private property.

Shortly after cops engaged Jeffords on North Cashua Street, she pulled over into a parking lot where a man exited the car and was arrested by deputies before she sped off, said Major Michael Nunn.

The identity of the person Jeffords allegedly lets out of the vehicle remains unknown.

The chase finally ended when police were led down an empty road and decided to conduct a maneuver by hitting the back of Jeffords’ vehicle, causing it to flip over.

But as the car tumbles wildly out of control, Jeffords is seen being thrown out of the vehicle.

Miraculously, the 24-year-old survived the incident and was taken to nearby McLeod hospital for treatment.

Jeffords was charged with two counts of failure to appear, driving under suspension and failure to stop for a (police) blue light.

She is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center on $3,650.50 bond, according to  WBTW-13.

Jeffords reportedly had her license suspended stemming from a previous DUI case.
