Fans were pictured with several signs, including a poster which demanded the managerJorge Vilda to be relieved of his post.

The Spain women’s team manager has become a polarising figure among his team, with those divisions becoming very apparent at this year’s World Cup.

However, he led his side to an unlikely victory in the tournament – but fans are still suggesting he should leave.

It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for the manager, whose future could still remain in doubt despite the achievement.

Another fan held a sign up which suggested that Spain star Aitana Bonmatí should win the Ballon d’Or this season after her impressive World Cup performances.

The Spaniards will be celebrating all night in Madrid after welcoming their heroes home.
