Spectators injured after Porsche attempts burnout in Idaho

A shocking video showing a Porsche Spyder driver injuring 11 people after crashing into them at a car event in the US has emerged.

The Spyder driver, who has not been named by police, was filmed swerving on a main road before hitting a group of car fans on the pavement who were watching the Cars and Coffee event near the Boise Spectrum in Boise, Idaho.

It is thought that the man was attempting to do a ‘burnout stunt’ – where the driver keeps the car stationary as he spins the wheels, causing the tyres to heat up and smoke – during the event when the incident occurred on Saturday just before 11am local time.

Witnesses can be seen trying to calm and advise the injured people who are lying on the ground as the driver leaves his vehicle and calmly walks over to the group.

Steve Vatcher, who was standing nearby with his son, Ean, told The Idaho Statesman: ‘You could hear the skidding and crashing. One body after another going flying up in the air, and shoes flying everywhere, and cellphones … And after that it was sheer screaming.’
