Juventus have been dealt a blow ahead of their game against Spurs as Blaise Matuidi has been ruled a doubt after being hit with a thigh injury.
The hard-tackling Frenchman, who has impressed since joining the Turin side from Paris Saint-Germain in August, was taken off during the first half of Sunday’s 7-0 demolition of Sassuolo.
And it seems as though Matuidi could be ruled out ahead of the Champions League clash.
Juventus have revealed that midfielder Blaise Matuidi has suffered a thigh injury
‘Blaise Matuidi underwent tests which revealed a mild-medium tear to the flexor muscles in his left thigh,’ Juventus said in a statement.
‘Further tests will be necessary to better ascertain the extent of his injury.’
Juventus visit Fiorentina for a Serie A match on Friday before hosting Tottenham on February 13.
Claudio Marchisio would be an option for Massimiliano Allegri’s side against Spurs after replacing Matuidi against Sassuolo.
It will come as a boost to Spurs, who take on Juventus in the Champions League next week
