Cats are natural predators, born to hunt with razor sharp claws and the ability to see in the dark.
Yet for one fierce feline, these advantages weren’t enough and a squirrel managed to outwit it for more than 40 minutes.

The squirrel manages to weave its way up and down the tree without being caught, outrunning the jet-black cat with ease.
At some points in the photo series it even looks like their fortunes have reversed and the rodent is chasing the cat.
Eventually the cat gave up on tucking into a squirrel-based dinner but not before spending the better part of an hour chasing it.
