- Violence erupted at the Luke Paddock and Myron Mills fight at Walsall Town Hall
- Chairs and glasses were thrown in the vicious riot which spilled onto the street
- A 19-year-old man is now in a critical condition in hospital with ‘stab injuries’
A teenager is fighting for his life after a riot broke out at a boxing event in Walsall Town Hall.
Crowds erupted into violence at around 11.30pm during the ninth round of the title fight between Luke Paddock and Myron Mills at Walsall Town Hall in the West Midlands.
Chairs and glasses were thrown in the vicious riot, which was broadcast on FacebookLive.
A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital and another man was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Both men were stabbed in the riot according to unconfirmed reports.
Forensic enquiries are underway at the scene, the area has been cordoned off and officers are currently speaking to witnesses.
Several hundred people were in the hall when the violence broke out but the fight then spilled out on to the street where the stabbings occurred, social media reports claim.
Boxers who took part at the Walsall event have condemned the violence.
Solihull light-middle Jordan Clayton, who dedicated his bout on the bill to stab victim Callum Lees, said this morning: ‘Last night I went in the ring representing my friend Callum Lees, who was fatally stabbed a couple months back.
‘After the fight last night there was a fight outside the venue.
‘What a world we are living and bringing our children into where scum bags are carrying knives and wrecking family’s lives like it’s nothing over meaningless acts of violence.’

Detective Inspector Ian Wilkins from force CID, said: ‘This was a large scale disorder which has resulted in a teenager receiving life threatening injuries.
‘The event was attended by several hundred people and we are trawling CCTV to identify those involved.
‘We are in the early stages of our enquiry and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened and has not yet spoken to us to come forward.’
