‘Both exited the bus and the offender ran off,’ police said in a statement.

Police believe the men may have been known to each other.

Almost four hours after the incident, roads were still blocked as officers probed the area and took statements from the bus driver and other witnesses.

Investigators believe that both men got off the bus following the incident and that the alleged offender ran off before police were at the scene.
