Stan has announced the cast for its brand new series, Thou Shalt Not Steal.

Filming is currently underway in Alice Springs for the Stan Original series, which stars Sherry-Lee Watson and Will McDonald, both of whom recently starred in the Heartbreak High reboot.

Miranda Otto, famous for her role in Lord of the Rings and who more recently starred in Aussie horror flick Talk To Me, rounds out the cast with Noah Taylor of Peaky Blinders and Game of Thrones fame.

The eight episode road series is set in Central and South Australia during the 1980s and is directed by AACTA Award-winning filmmaker Dylan River.

Thou Shalt Not Steal follows Robyn (Watson), a young Aboriginal delinquent searching for the truth behind a mysterious family secret, who escapes from detention and reluctantly teams up with awkward teenager Gidge (McDonald).

Together they flee her small central desert community on a perilous journey across the outback, finding answers and learning some hard life lessons along the way.

Thou Shalt Not Steal also features an impressive ensemble cast including Natasha Wanganeen, Damian Walshe-Howling, and Geoff Morrell, among many others.
