Stan starts production of season four of its critically acclaimed comedy-drama series Bump

Streaming giant Stan announced on Monday that production of season four of its critically acclaimed Original series, comedy-drama Bump, has begun in Sydney.

The new season will be set two years after series three ended, and will focus on Santi (Carlos Sanson Jr) and Oly (Nathalie Morris) raising their seven-year-old daughter.

Fans can expect popular series regulars Claudia Karvan, Angus Sampson and Paula Garcia to return, as well as some new faces.

It is also set to be a special season as wheelchair tennis star Dylan Alcott is due to make his acting debut on the show, while Class of ’07 star Steph Tisdell will also join the cast.

Stan recently released a press kit of the actors performing a table read, and Karvan, Morris and Sanson Jr were all smiles as they pose with their scripts.

Last year, Bump’s enormous popularity saw it spawn a spin-off show called Year Of.

Karvan, who stars in and produces Bump, is also behind the series.

Year Of is set in the same inner-city Sydney high school as Bump, but follows a different cast of characters.

Bump, a comedy-drama about teenage pregnancy, was one of the most popular and critically acclaimed shows on Stan upon its debut in 2021.

Year Of was filmed at a high school in Glebe, near Sydney’s CBD.

The storylines explore conflicts stemming from the recent gentrification of working-class areas in the inner city, where teenagers who live in $12million homes mix with housing commission kids.

Claudia said at the Screen Forever conference that fans can expect a ‘massive rug-pull’ with some of the upcoming Bump storylines.

The actress-producer plays the role of Angie Davis, the mother of teen mum Oly Davis-Chalmers (Nathalie Morris).

She stars opposite Angus Sampson, who plays her estranged husband Dom.

The first three seasons of Bump are currently available to stream only on Stan.
