Starbucks’ app goes DOWN causing coffee misery for millions of Americans on their morning commute

Starbucks is down for Americans nationwide, leaving them unable to grab a coffee before heading to work.

DownDetector, a site that monitors digital issues, shows the app went down around 8:30amET.

Other fans have reported issues with the coffee giant’s website, suggesting mobile orders cannot be taken.

People have shared their frustrations on social media as they head into work without their caffeine fix, with some saying it is ‘absolute mayhem.’

Starbucks has been hit by an outage plaguing the US and other parts of the globe

Approximately 91 percent of the issue stems from the app, with seven percent of people citing they cannot log in to their accounts and two percent cannot checkout.

At least 33 million Americans use the app, but the number of users impacted is unknown.

The app offers mobile ordering, payment and rewards that can be redeemed for free food and drinks.

And 25 percent of Starbucks’s transactions are completed through mobile orders.

Other users are left even more disappointed due to it being their birthday and were looking forward to their free drink. 

‘It’s my birthday and the Starbucks app is down. This feels like a terrible conspiracy,’ X user ‘Maureen Van Nest’ shared.
