He’s gone but he will never be forgotten.
Celebrity friends of the late Anton Yelchin, including Jennifer Lawrence and Star Trek co-star Zoe Saldana, turned out for a ceremony on Sunday to celebrate a bronze statue of the actor placed over his grave at Hollywood Forever cemetery.
The 27-year-old Star Trek actor was killed in a bizarre accident at his Los Angeles home in June 2016.

He was crushed to death by his car after it rolled back and pinned him against a brick mailbox pillar at his home.
Anton was initially buried in Mount Sinai cemetery, which is the largest Jewish cemetery in California, but his family moved him after learning it doesn’t allow above-ground memorials.
The actor was best known for playing Pavel Chekov in the rebooted Star Trek franchise that kicked off in 2009 and its follow ups Star Trek: Into Darkness in 2013 and Star Trek: Beyond in 2016.
Star Trek director-producer J.J. Abrams; Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura; and Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty, were among those who turned out to pay their respects.

Zoe, 39, also spoke at the memorial, along with the late actor’s father and mother, Viktor and Irina Yelchin.
Speakers addressed guests next to several pictures of the actor showing him as a baby, a young boy, and from his film career.
Other celebrity guests included actors Emile Hirsch and Jon Voight, and directors Drake Doremus and Jeremy Saulnier.

They were joined by Jennifer, 27, who starred with Anton in 2011’s The Beaver and Like Crazy the same year.
The bronze statue of Anton was unveiled at the Life Celebration event and is now open for public viewing in the cemetery’s Garden of Legends.
The actor’s statue was created by sculptor Nick Marra and FX artist Greg Nicotero.

A mural of Yelchin created by fans at a Star Trek convention was also on display at the service at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Anton’s grave is in an idyllic plot with a view of the lake.
He shares his last resting place with icons of old Hollywood including Jayne Mansfield, Cecil B. DeMille, Rudoph Valentino, Mickey Rooney an Douglas Fairbanks.
