Stars to wear anti-harassment pins to Golden Globe Awards

Several notable men and women in Hollywood will be making quite the statement when they convene for Sunday’s 75th Golden Globe Awards.

Time’s Up, a new anti-sexual harassment and assault initiative launched by Hollywood bigwigs, unveiled a new commemorative pin that features the black and white logo.

Launched Monday by the likes of Shonda Rhimes, Reese Witherspoon, America Ferrera and other prominent Hollywood Women, the recent blasting of sexual assault allegations helped bring about the initiative.

Costume designer and stylist Arianne Phillips, along with jewelry designer Michael Schmidt, were tapped by Reese Witherspoon to design the pins.

‘I was probably one of very few women there who would be considered below-the line,’ said Phillips to Hollywood Reporter.

‘Reese asked me to come to the actors’ group, and told me they were going to be wearing black and would I consider creating a pin for the nominees and male presenters. We were up against the holidays, but I said I could do it, and the first person I called was my partner-in-crime, [Los Angeles jewelry designer] Michael Schmidt.’

500 pins were manufactured in the U.S. in under two weeks.

‘I met so many great women, and it was such an honor to be called to action,’ Phillips added.

The Time’s Up plan has set aside a legal defense fund for victims in all industries. They’ve also asked that women were black to the award ceremonies.

Phillips has asked for those in the fashion sphere to contribute to the movement, which had already raised the first $13million with help from Witherspoon and others.

The public can donate to a GoFundMe.
