State Department slammed for deleting MULTIPLE tweets urging Israel to stand down on retaliating against Hamas

  • The State Department is receiving intense backlash for deleting two separate tweets calling for Israel to stand down in its counterstrikes against Hamas
  • U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs posted to X: ‘We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks’
  • Terrorists in the Palestinian enclave of Gaza conducted a series of strikes against Israel starting on Saturday. The Israeli death toll surpassed 700 on Monday

Two separate U.S. State Department tweets calling for Israel to stop its counterstrikes against Hamas terrorists in Gaza are now deleted.

It follows fierce backlash against the agency for seeming to suggest Israel doesn’t have a right to defend itself or engage in counter operations after Palestinian fundamentalists launched a multi-front surprise attack on Saturday.

As of Monday morning, more than 700 Israelis are confirmed dead – and on Sunday it was announced that more than 2,000 were injured in the attack. This does not include those still being held hostage in Gaza, the number of which is unknown but thought to be in the hundreds at least.

Additionally, a Department of State spokesperson revealed on Monday that nine Americans were killed so far in the conflict.

The agency’s U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs posted to X on Saturday: ‘We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred. We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.’

That post is now no longer available on the social media site formerly known as Twitter.

‘Hi Antony Blinken! Why did the State Dept just delete this?’ Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec posted to X with a screen shot of the now-deleted tweet.

Additionally, Secretary of State Antony Blinken posted on Sunday that he spoke with his counterpart in Turkey about having Israel stand down from defending itself against the horrific terrorist attacks.

‘Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and I spoke further on Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israel,’ the State Department head wrote. ‘I encouraged Turkiye’s advocacy for a cease-fire and the release of all hostages held by Hamas immediately.’

Blinken’s post has also now been deleted.

Fox News’ Guy Benson questioned: ‘Did Sec. Blinken delete the tweet in which he says he asked Turkey to negotiate a ceasefire, prior to Israel’s response even really starting?’

‘Why would the admin just delete this post? Either Blinken advocated a ceasefire or he didn’t,’ conservative podcast Stephen L. Miller posted to X.
