Avenatti is already in Phoenix, where he has taken the case of a Honduran six-year-old boy named Samir who has been held in Southwest Key, a children’s detention center in Arizona, for the past two weeks while his mother Levis is detained in Laredo, Texas.

He tweeted a picture of Samir playing with blocks on Monday.

‘Meet Samir…For the first hour, he kept saying “not true” when we would tell him his mami loved him and she sent us to him. He asked us to take this to his mami – he said it showed a princess like her,’ he tweeted with a drawing of The Little Mermaid.

He has also taken up the case of a mother named Lilian who was separated from her seven-year-old daughter Britany and has no idea of her whereabouts as ICE refused to inform her.

The lawyer shared a letter penned from the mother to the daughter in Spanish, as she is about to be deported without being reunited with her child.

Avenatti also shared an image of seven young detained boys waiting in a McAllen, Texas airport to be transported to another area.

‘Who knows where they are going from there. Sending children 1000 miles away from their parents is a disgrace,’ the lawyer tweeted.

Avenatti said he’s representing about 60 migrant families in all, five of which have children detained in Phoenix.

He’s pursuing legal actions to force the government to reunite these parents with their children, according to Fox5.

Following the public outcry against Trump’s zero tolerance policy that saw families ripped apart and parents and children detained in different facilities, the president signed an executive order to temporarily halt the separation of families on Wednesday.

However it is not clear how the government intends to reunite the more than 2,000 families already separated.
