More than 70,000 revellers flocked to the festivals in Staffordshire and Chelmsford, where Mercury-nominated grime artist Stormzy is to perform later.
The rapper also traded some social media banter with fellow V Festival performer Ellie Goulding ahead of their sets at Weston Park.
He wrote ‘V FESTIVAL WHAT THE F*** ARE WE SAYING’ before adding in a follow-up tweet that he had ‘been waiting for this one’.
Stormzy then poked fun at his own giddiness with Brit Award-winning singer Goulding, who he said was acting ‘ever so calmly’.
Stormzy wrote: ‘Ellie Goulding just stepped off the private jet ever so calmly with like 100 people and we here running around the runway like kids gassed’
Goulding, who had flown to the UK from Krakow, Poland, where she had performed on Friday, responded to his initial V Festival tweet by sharing just a crying laughing emoji and a love heart symbol
