Stranger saves 14-year-old girl from terrifying attempted abduction in Hosier Lane, Melbourne

A quick-thinking Good Samaritan has intervened to stop the attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl during a school excursion in Melbourne’s CBD. 

The incident occurred at 10:30 am on November 15 in Hosier Lane. 

The teenage girl, who was part of a school group exploring the area, was grabbed by an unknown man who attempted to drag her along the laneway. 

A courageous bystander, promptly intervened and pretended to be a teacher, successfully aiding the girl to break free.

The man was accompanied by a woman who police also want to speak to.

Accompanied by a woman, the alleged offender left the area on foot through Flinders Lane and Russell Street.

He is described as having dark-coloured skin and a slim build.

He was wearing black sunglasses, dark-coloured long pants, a dark-coloured hoodie with a red hood, black shoes with white soles, and was carrying a black backpack and black bum bag.

The woman is perceived to be Asian in appearance, with a solid build and long black hair.

She was wearing a purple puffer jacket, beige/light pink t-shirt, blue jeans, white and fluoro orange shoes and a blue backpack.

Police have released photos of the pair as they wish to speak to them.
