Strictly Come Dancing: Ashley Roberts’ ballroom dance experience EXPOSED

Strictly Come Dancing competitor Ashley Roberts has received ballroom dance training in the past it can be revealed as she topped the leader board on the show.

While she admitted to having a wealth of experience ‘booty popping’, the Pussycats Doll star previously claimed the ballroom dances were alien to her. 

The songstress, 37, however, has had a one-to-one masterclass with Dancing With The Stars’ professional Keo Motsepe.

Ashley was taught the ropes of the cha-cha-cha by the TV professional in lessons recorded and broadcast on the singer’s Look show on America’s NBC. 

Mastering a number of moves, Ashley was able to perform a lift, twists and turns as well as fancy footwork following the session.

The Sun reported the singer was also given a tango lesson by New York’s Dardo Galeletto Studios in October 2016, just two years ago.

Ahead of the Strictly live shows, Ashley insisted the Latin and ballroom dances would feel ‘foreign’ to her in previous interviews but failed to note her prior tutorials.

The singer said on Virgin Radio Breakfast: ‘I’m excited to learn a new style of dance. The Latin and ballroom world is foreign to me.’

‘Dance experience? If there’s booty popping in the ballroom, maybe that will help, but I don’t think there is.’ She told interviewers. ‘It’ll feel very foreign to my body.’

In Strictly’s first live show, Ashley danced her way to the top of the leader board in the arms of her professional partner Pasha Kovalev.

The Strictly judges praised the beauty on her ‘beautiful’ and ‘feminine’ storytelling when she danced the Waltz to Perfect by Ed Sheeran featuring Beyoncé.

Ashley showed she has what it takes to be a tough fighter in the notoriously difficult competition by securing top place with 29 points.

Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice also landed 29 points, making the couple joint at the top spot with Ashley and Pasha.

Susannah Constantine and Anton Du Beck came last after only managing to get 12 points from the judges.
