Strictly Come Dancing: Ruth Langsford suffers stumble

It’s officially the halfway point of the BBC entertainment stalwart and with the Glitterball trophy in sight, the stars pulled out all the stops for this week’s instalment.

However, Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Ruth Langsford perhaps entertained viewers in a different way than she had hoped after she hilariously fell on top of her dance partner Anton Du Beke on Saturday night.

Causing hilarity, the ITV presenter had judges, the audience and her husband Eamonn Holmes in a fit of laughter as she finished her cheeky Paso Doble to The Shady Dame From Seville by Julie Andrews.

Uh oh: Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Ruth Langsford perhaps entertained viewers in a different way than she had hoped after she hilariously fell on top of her dance partner Anton du Beke on Saturday night

The mayhem ensued at the end of her performance when they lost their balance and she ended on top of the dancing pro, flashing her bottom towards the camera.

Taking it in her stride, she even straddled her ballroom pal as a red-faced Eamonn watched on not knowing how to exactly react to her side-splitting moment.

Although admitting the fall wasn’t ‘planned’, Bruno couldn’t help but laugh at the situation : ‘She will never pass for a bull. Murder on the dancefloor what more do you want from Strictly Come Dancing.’

While Darcey insisted: ‘I want to watch it ever time, you cam alive, the looks you gave Anton, I love that. Don’t give up with the content, don’t give on the technique you’re going somewhere.

However, their performance could be in danger after the dance pro has twisted his shoulder preparing for this week’s show, leaving their training in chaos.

Yet the contestant proved the show must go on when she left rehearsals with no sign of her dance companion in London on Friday.

A source told The Sun: ‘Gio completely twisted his shoulder doing a lift in last week’s show and a paramedic had to be called.

‘He went to see a specialist who told him he needed to recover, dose up on pain killers and take a break from rehearsals.

‘It’s been very touch and go as to whether Debbie would need a new partner as Gio has been in quite a bit of pain but he’s done all he can to get back to full fitness so it looks like he’ll still be on the dance floor.’

MailOnline at the time contacted Strictly’s spokesperson for comment.
