It comes as Strictly gave fans their first glimpse at their socially-distanced launch show, as the twelve celebrities finally discover their professional partners.

The pre-recorded opener, which will air on Saturday, will see the pros dazzle with a sensational opening routine, and judges Shirley, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel-Horwood seated on separate podiums to ensure the programme adheres to COVID-19 safety guidelines.

This year’s Strictly has been more anticipated than ever as the country is in the grip of the coronavirus crisis, and has seen drastic changes to ensure the series could go ahead, albeit with a shortened run.

It comes after Shirley considered having a ‘mini-facelift’ after noticing some skin starting to ‘sag’ when she turned 60 in lockdown.

The judge said she’s already had Botox, which didn’t leave her looking like she had ‘been in a wind tunnel’.

Now noticing changes to her appearance as she gets older, Shirley added that she wouldn’t mind having some work done in an interview with The Sun.

Shirley told the publication: ‘I had a little Botox but don’t look like I’ve been in a wind tunnel.

‘I’d have a mini-facelift, just this bit here [pointing under her chin]. I’m suddenly 60.

‘Your skin gets more wrinkled on your hands, your neck starts to go and your bum starts to sag, you take your bra off and the titties fall to your knees.’

The professional dancer added that so long as having a cosmetic procedure made her ‘feel good’, then she wouldn’t dismiss the idea of having it.

This is not the first time Shirley has spoken openly about having procedures to help maintain her youthful looks.

For example, back in March 2019 the professional dancer underwent back cupping in a bid to tighten her skin and relieve stress.

Turning her attention to Strictly, Shirley said she was impressed with how the show has dealt with problems from coronavirus.

And discussing Nicola Adams same sex partnership, Shirley recommended that any disgruntled viewers ‘switch off’ for the routine, adding that it may also bring new people to the show.

Shirley also revealed that apart from her work on Strictly, which returns to screens on Saturday, she’d love to appear on Coronation Street.

She said it is a dream of hers to play a dance teacher on the show and cause lots of mischief.

First look snaps from the launch show hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman reuniting, with the pair ensuring they stand at least two metres apart throughout the show.

As ever Tess looks sensational in a white and black spotted midi dress, while Claudia opts for a bronze sequinned suit to present the programme.

Offering a glimpse of the strict measures introduced due to the crisis, Tess and Claudia are separated from the orchestra by a perspex screen.

The launch will consist of the celebrities discovering their professional partners for the first time, though in a post-COVID change, they will instead by revealed via. video link.

Watchful eye: Judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Shirley and Motsi Mabuse will also take their place on the panel, though this year will see them sat on separate desks to maintain social distancing

This will allow for couples to form their own individual ‘bubbles’ for training and performances, meaning the stars will have maintain distance from each other during filming.

The professional dancers will also take to the stage to showcase their dance moves with a sensation opener, and will also accompany a stunning performance by Joel Corry and MNEK.

Judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse will also take their place on the panel, though this year will see them sat on separate desks to maintain social distancing.

Bruno Tonioli has been unable to appear in the studio due to travel restrictions introduced by the COVID-19 pandemic, but will make guest appearances from his home in Los Angeles.
